Hiragana / Katakana

For this course, hiragana and katakana will remain the same as Japanese. There will be some changes:

Note that in some textbooks, they will use をぅ instead of うぅ, but just stick to what is in the chart for the sake of this course.
Also note that っ represents a glottal stop.

Explanation for 穴 in Okinawan

I wrote that it may mean pit, but let me explain. It can mean a hole that goes vertically, but it can also mean the holes for house poles often used to make a low house like the picture below:
